The Animaniacs reboot gave me the same meh feelings the Beavis and Butthead reboot did years ago. They're both relics and neither one has the bite or charm their original versions did. The fact they're going to reboot Beavis and Butthead again even, is sad. If you're going to reboot an old cartoon, you're better off doing it as a one-off special kind of thing like Nickelodeon was doing.

All this anger I've seen about "forced diversity" feels like the white genocide conspiracy theory all over again. Kumo Desu Ga's plot is shit no matter how much I read the LNs/WNs/ or the anime. If you read past LN 6 you can tell that the author is just picking favorites and making the story as one sided as possible. Okina very rarely gave proper character development on the other side.

I don't really care if Shun was suppose to be that "generic isekai protagonist from shonen mangas" the thing is that he's the same guy with a crappy character development from start to the end is what made me dislike it. It's the same reason why Hugo's end was so stupid I stopped taking the WN seriously.

I find Kumo Desu Ga is similar to the setting of the Slime isekai, the characters of Overlord (evil side being the protagonists), and the plot of FF7 all together.

Realism in more grounded fiction(e.g., hard science, low fantasy and darker settings) is overstated. Just because a writer decided to understand & research a scientific or historical concept before pulling something out of his ass doesn't mean it's more realistic.

I typically dislike shonen anime for being too drawn out and formulaic such as Naruto, Bleach, and more recent MHA. I feel like the stories meander too much and lack focus, also actions scenes are usually over-contextualized which hurts the pacing and excitement.

Some bad RPG takes because it's the only thing I have strong opinions on:

- Designing for balance is overrated and makes the game a more bland experience.
- Giving martial classes techniques/stamina points just makes them casters by another name and misses the point of them. They should be simple yet durable.
- Alignment is fine when you actually read the rules.
- The only right way to do a Superhero RPG is to not let the players pick their powers.
- I'm convinced there's no such thing as a good Eclipse Phase game.
- Lamentably I feel the same way about Starfinder.
- Evil-aligned characters are generally played better than Good-aligned ones because the players are under higher expectation to justify their actions.
- Porting a video game 1:1 into ttrpg form always ruins it. (Looking at Fallout 2d20 and a lot of homebrews I've read)
- The more expensive and intricate your dice get the more worthless they become. The best dice are the blandest.
- If you do theater of the mind for combat in DnD/PF you're doing it wrong.
- If you do tactical layouts for combat in CoC you're probably doing it wrong.
- I have yet to see mass combat rules done right but I'm convinced it can be done.

It's possible for someone to think a person is attractive and that they're a shit person. That sounds obvious, but hear me out.

Time and time again, I've seen people adopt a "everything about this person is terrible" attitude when they hear of them doing something terrible in the news/on the internet.

Most recently, it's the Ghislaine Maxwell trial. She was involved with Epstein and that's terrible, but that doesn't mean people can't appreciate the booba pic. Comments on the picture are an aside, not something that detracts from or lessens what she's done.

I can understand for live action properties but with cartoons why it hard to compromise or even break normal conventions when it comes to black and Latino characters? Anime does the whole white hair dark skin shtick don’t see why western cartoons can’t? I get it’s unrealistic but like, it’s a cartoon fam?

Also, I need to vent some heat which may be unpopular to some people but Yoai/boy's love keeps getting misinterpreted, and I'm sick of it. Every time the same goddamn points are brought up, I get so frustrated each fucking time.

The switch is cool don't get me wrong but it has the WORST CONTROLLER EVER MADE and I mean that! The joycron drift is that bad, mild inconvenience my ass! It makes playing smash bros basically impossible! I literally can't jump or run sometimes or launch a.basic damn projectile because the drift is that bad. Worst controller in history at least other worse designed stiff controllers somewhat function

I feel certain Nintendo will still keep the hybrid console concept for their next system, but I definitely hope the next joycon design is much better. Whenever I play my Switch I'm pretty much always using the pro controller, as THAT controller is very comfortable and just in general feels good to use. A co-worker of mine who also loves the Switch doesn't like using the default joycons, he bought the Hori split pad so he has proper grips when playing in handheld mode.

Staying on video games:

Blinx deserved better, his first game is actually super creative and very fun and it sucks Microsoft just abandoned him for the most part. Fact they released Blinx 2 so close to Halo 2 shows they really didn't care about the IP at all. Blinx is one game I feel really deserves a remake or remaster.

-Ken Akamatsu did a good job at pissing both Japanese and foreigners alike.
-All countries have a history of doing fucked up shit if you look into them deeply enough.
-Irresponsible pet owners deserve it when their pets died.
-Britain being called "TERF Island" is nothing more than an exaggeration.
-Japan isn't perfect, so is America.

The Legend of Korra isn't a dumpster fire, nor did it "ruin the lore" of the Avatar universe like some people insist it did. Some things I was a bit harsher toward in the past I've softened a bit in regards to the show, like the love triangle wasn't as bad as I remembered it being. Also, I feel like people massively exaggerate Korra's flaws as a character, sometimes to the point of ignoring what actually happened.

People simplify the 1950s so it's either purely perfect or pure evil, the 1950s (while way worse than nowadays) was a lot more complex than that, still bad but complex is not like the idea "racism is wrong" and "sexism is wrong" just magically spring out in the 1960s the ground to the 1960s was subtly being born during the 1950s even if at first glance it didn't seem that way. People were looking back at Nazis with disgust for example. The idea of women working was begining from the 1900s.

A story being an "Isekai" immediately puts it into an unfavourable position in my eyes, and it has to work hard in order to prove itself worth to read/watch.

An "Isekai" where protagonist knows the world he ends up in (due to it being a game/story they know) is invariably trash tier.

The only good "Isekai" story is the one where a culture clash (or shock) and exploration of it is the major part.

"Reality with RPG system" is a lazy copout method used by authors who can't write character progression. Out of over 300+ isekai stories I read/watched there were exactly 3 where that was not the case and something interesting was done with RPG system.

Powerfantasy with OP protagonist can be fun and genuinely good, but making it so is much harder than people thing.

The political shit on this site is exactly why I stopped coming here as much as I used to. I feel like this site used to be either centrist or center-left but it feels like it's leaning too far in certain directions, and okay fuck it I'll just say it, it feels like trending images and the comments for certain entries are leaning too far right for my liking, it's like /pol/tards are trying to take over and most users are falling into their trap. I despise modern social media websites. The only reason so many people would be willing to stay in those sites regardless of the decline of quality and the daily bad individuals/group discourse spouting in every corner is because of a combination of convenience, the gratification of clout, and FOMO drives a person to stay on that place, regardless of better alternatives.

Hell, I’m not so fond of here either and I only have to push myself through this place. It feels like fewer and fewer people come here anymore.

I yearn for the old days when anyone could just make their own websites. When anyone can have their own small/niche topics on the media they enjoy along with other like-minded people. Where sites were designed with the creators full control with all it’s imperfection and flare, and not just a carbon copy of overly simplified design to reminisce of Apple products. And the passion of making, archiving, and documenting info of the games/shows’ trivia and obscure content is what made me so interested in the internet when I was little.

But nowadays, all of them just use Wikia, and I hate it. I swear to god if I had to go to another fucking [insert franchise here].fandom Wikia with all of it’s inane community arguments, formulaic layout, and constant ads appearing everywhere and even the within the text the moment you disable adblock.

Related, I also hate it when people say shit like "[insert name of company here] literally hates you" when said company does something that some people dislike. Now to be clear I do feel companies should be criticized when they do something wrong, but the big reason why I hate this phrase is because it's contradictory as all hell towards another phrase these same people love to use. When people are praising a company for something, and yes I'll just use Nintendo for example because they're by far one of the biggest ones you'll see these phrases used for, you'll see people like, say, Mutahar of SomeOrdinaryGamers say things like "stop sucking their dicks, their not your friend, they don't even know you exist." But when a company like Nintendo does something that draws criticism like removing game OSTs from YouTube you'll have these same people now saying things like "Nintendo literally hates you and their entire fanbase on a personal level." So which is it? Am I and other fans so insignificant to a company like Nintendo that it doesn't matter what they do because to them we don't exist, or does Nintendo know we exist and they literally hate us personally for enjoying the things they make? Just come out and fucking admit you simply hate the company in question and be done with it, stop attacking the fans personally by gaslighting with phrases like "stop praising them because they don't even know you exist" or "oh they did this bad thing because they literally hate you."
