Being honest, probably is a bad thing but there are always exceptions. If you want it and do a shit-load of work to get to it you will be repaid regardless. The only problem with wanting one is that just like with modship people are worried that you don't like the task and just the reward and will stop once rewarded. Some obviously like the winning of competitions it's kind of an okay situation to want them since it is a competition after all.

Is it bad? Yeah kinda it'll hurt your chances but they won't be ruined. You and I both have seen people get modship and badges who have seeked it out before. It's just rarer. There's no magical blacklist or is there

Just a suggestion, but maybe we should add a badge for video game related meme researchers. Hell if we have a badge for Vine and Anime memes there should probably be one for video games in general.

That would be fine, but until now the mods have created new badges on a needs basis. Unlike with anime enthusiasts, it's harder to compile a list of users who contribute to gaming in general (as opposed to a specific fandom like Smash) with image uploads and entries or even just comments. It's not helped by the fact that almost everyone on KYM is a casual fan of games, so finding stand-out users is more challenging than with a more niche subculture like anime or music.

If I had to nominate someone for a general games badge it'd have to be someone active in the games board on the forums like its resident threadmaker, Ms Fortune.

If the mods got more suggestions it would speed up the process.

Karma is like high-end prostitution, so I can't help it I got the high-in-demand tush.

I want to know this as well.

Karma Tycoon and Karma Philantropist kinda have no set amount. The two current forum-related owners, myself and Sam, are both outliers, so we know it's not acceptable to have our digits function as the standard.

We'll need a casual idea of where the average highest karma scores lie (minus the outliers), and decide from there.

It can also be received through votes on media of course, but only the staff has access to that metadata, so we'll need to ask them for that part.

How DO you get badges anyway? I might technically qualify for 'Fan Art Historian' given the volume of what I upload to different fandom pages, and so do plenty of other users at this point.
