The reveal will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Rockstar as a company, so now it makes sense they opted to wait until the end of the year for this. With this year also marking an entire decade of GTAV still being the "most recent" GTA I know fans of the series will be glad that at LONG last we're finally going to see the next entry in an official capacity (the leaked footage was from in-development alpha builds dating back years, while I expect this upcoming footage will be from a beta that's close to being finished).

Of course they choose to announce this monumental juggernaut in the same year I play GTAV for the first time.

Coming 2025 and right now only confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, the PC version is likely coming in 2026 as Rockstar always focuses on console versions first and PC versions later.

Fun fact: there's stuff in the trailer that's taken from Florida Man moments. Can't make a parody when real life is a parody itself!
