Overview

Bangs is the nickname for Anahy, a 21-year-old OnlyFans model, student and nanny who became the subject of several viral videos and clips in early 2023 following her appearances on the Whatever Podcast. Between January and March 2023, numerous clips of Anahy went viral, largely attempting to frame her as "dumb" and getting triggered by the hosts and other guests on the show for pushing back against their viewpoints. Anahy was given the nickname "Bangs" for her hairstyle.

History

On January 29th, 2023, the Whatever Podcast uploaded episode 50 to YouTube,^[1] titled "HEATED Debate With College Girls," garnering over 658,000 views in two months (shown below, left). During the episode, one of the guests is Anahy, a nanny and student with bangs.

On February 6th, the Whatever Clips YouTube^[2] channel posted a highlight from the episode titled "Modern Woman CRIES When Told THE TRUTH" in which Anahy shares the opinion that women have been oppressed "since the dawn of civilization" during a discussion about boundaries where the host argues that women shouldn't go out if their partner doesn't want her to, garnering over 121,000 views in a month (shown below, right). In the clip, Anahy then argues with another male guest on the podcast who calls her rude and accuses him of insulting her, which the host agrees with. He asks her to explain how women are oppressed and she refuses, saying he should know. She says he's "part of the problem that women are oppressed."

On February 19th, the Whatever Podcast uploaded episode 56 to YouTube,^[3] titled "BANGS IS BACK! Round 2! FIGHT!," garnering over 454,000 views in a month (shown below). The episode marks the second appearance of Anahy.

Between March 6th and 7th, 2023, the Whatever Clips YouTube^[4] channel posted seven separate highlights about Anahy with titles like, "BANGS Would RATHER Have INSTAGRAM Than A Boyfriend?!" and "BANGS Can NOT Accept REALITY?!"

The most popular clip is titled "BANGS Was Asked THIS SIMPLE Question…" (shown below) and features Anahy responding to a commenter who asks the women why their opinions should matter if they have a "high-value man" telling them what to do. Anahy laughs at the idea that the host is a high-value man and defends the claim that her opinion matters and explains what she brings to the table in a relationship. Another woman on the podcast speaks in defense of the host, claiming Anahy shouldn't have an OnlyFans if she wants to be a high-value woman and get a high-value man. One of the male guests defines a high-value woman as someone who "cooks," "cleans," "doesn't go out" and isn't argumentative.

She also refutes the argument that an OnlyFans model can't get a "high-value man." Ultimately, she states she wants a man who respects her and wants her to do what she wants to do. Anahy also says it's important for both partners in a relationship to communicate and the host argues by saying a man should be a "leader" and you can't have both. She also says it scares her that the host didn't learn about how women were oppressed in school and says the existence of the podcast proves that misogyny is still alive.

Clips from Anahy's Whatever Podcast appearances went viral online over the course of February and March 2023 on sites like TikTok, often shared in a mocking way. On February 22nd, TikToker^[5] @themasculinism posted a clip in which Anahy says a man paid for her gas, writing, "STOP SIMPING 😡" in the description, garnering over 2.1 million views in a month (shown below, left). On March 21st, TikToker^[6] @letsreallyralk posted a video defending Anahy, garnering over 1,500 views in two days (shown below, right).
