I Love You In Every Universe is a line said by Doctor Strange in the 2022 Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to Christine in Earth 838. The scene has been used as an exploitable meme template used by creators to say they love "every" iteration of a character or characters from different franchises that have the same voice actor.

Origin

On May 6th, 2022, the 2022 Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released in the U.S. In the film, there is a scene when Doctor Strange says "I love you in every universe" to Christine (portrayed by Rachel McAdams) from Earth 838 (in that universe, she has chosen another man instead of him). On May 9th, 2022, YouTube^[1] user arcnadine uploaded the scene. It received more than 561,000 views in one week (shown below).

The line grew popular on Twitter over the following weeks. For example, on May 10th, 2022, Twitter^[2] user @Scripts_Marvel uploaded a tweet that claimed the line was similar to "I Love You 3000" from the 2019 Marvel film Avengers: Endgame. The tweet received more than 19,700 likes and 4,100 retweets (shown below).

On May 13th, 2022, Twitter^[3] user @percicqs uploaded a tweet about loving the character Percy Jackson from every series. The tweet received more than 7,500 likes and 1,300 retweets (shown below, left). On May 16th, 2022, Twitter^[4] user @kdramadaisy uploaded a tweet about a character from the 2022 Netflix Korean TV series Tomorrow. The tweet received more than 11,100 likes and 3,319 retweets (shown below, right).

The scene also gained popularity among anime communities on Facebook and Twitter and was used by creators to express how they loved every iteration of a character from different spin-offs or characters that have the same voice actor. For example, on May 16th, 2022, Twitter^[5] user @GlennAkio uploaded a version of the meme about the character Ayumu Ueahara from Love Live Nijigasaki and different spin-offs. The tweet received more than 2,300 likes and 568 retweets (shown below, left). On the next day, Facebook^[6] user Hiro Aimoto uploaded an image about how he loves every character that has been voiced by Japanese voice actor Akari Kito to "Nijigasaki HS – Go To 2nd STAGE" group. The post received more than 1,000 reactions and 399 shares (shown below, right).
