About
Selen Tatsuki, also known as Dokibird, is a VTuber previously signed to the Japanese VTuber agency NIJISANJI EN. She is known for her gaming streams with a specialty in shooters like Apex Legends and Overwatch. She was let go from her position as Selen Tatsuki with NIJISANJI in early 2024, with the corporation citing an unprofessional attitude on her part. However, Dokibird levied her own allegations of professional misconduct and bullying against NIJISANJI EN, an experience she claims led to her hospitalization in December 2023. Her fans began promoting her non-corporate VTuber identity "Dokibird" in February 2024 as a controversy surrounding her termination brewed online.
Background
Dokibird is an independent VTuber[1] who originally debuted in May 2020, retired in May 2021, and re-debuted in 2024. Dokibird describes herself as a thief, conman, cat burglar and artist, with her "lore reason" for disappearing after 2021 being a botched bank heist (seen below).[2] Dokibird gathered over 9,000 YouTube followers before 2024, with her subscriber number rising to 20,000 on both YouTube and Twitch in February 2024.
Selen Tatsuki first debuted with NIJISANJI En in July 2021 as part of the OBSYDIA group,[3] with a memorable joke about her schedule being filled with Apex Legends. On December 15th, 2022, Selen Tatsuki's YouTube channel gathered over 600,000 subscribers. In February 2024, her channel was erased following her termination.
Online History
Termination From NIJISANJI EN
In December 2023, Tatsuki covered YouTuber Lilypichu's song "last cup of coffee."[12] However, NIJISANJI set Selen Tatsuki's cover to "private," leading to fans reuploading the song on YouTube (seen below). Lilypichu has since confirmed that Selen Tatsuki was given permission to cover the track.
NIJISANJI EN also barred Selen Tatsuki from hosting international events around this time. The lack of corporate response to both these events led many VTubers to encourage Selen Tatsuki to leave NIJISANJI EN.[4][5]

On February 5th, 2024, NIJISANJI EN's official X[6] account made a series of posts announcing that Selen Tatsuki is being let go from NIJISANJI EN "due to repeated breaches of contract and misleading statements on social platforms." The post gathered over 21 million views and 66,000 likes in a day (seen below).
![Selen Tatsuki / Dokibird NIJISANJI EN Official EN @NIJISANJI World [Notice: Termination of Selen Tatsuki's Contract with ANYCOLOR] We hereby announce that we have had to make the difficult decision to terminate our contract with the NIJISANJI EN Liver 'Selen Tatsuki' effective immediately, due to repeated breaches of contract and misleading statements on social platforms. Attached is the detailed explanation of the circumstances that led to this decision being taken. Thank you for your understanding and continuous support of NIJISANJI and NIJISANJI EN. 5th February, 2024 Notification of Contract Termination with Selen Tatsuki We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support of NIJISANJI and NIJISANJI EN. It is with regret that we have had to make the difficult decision to terminate our affiliation contract with the NIJISANJI EN Liver, Selen Tatsuki due to multiple breaches of contract and misleading statements on social platforms. For transparency, we have provided a detailed explanation of the circumstances and reasons that have unfortunately led us to this decision below. Activity Rules for Affiliated Livers: ANYCOLOR has established activity rules ("Activity Rules") that our affiliated Livers agree to comply with. These rules are designed to prevent infringement of third-party rights, leakage of confidential information belonging to ANYCOLOR or third parties, damage to the reputation or credibility of third parties, and other acts that may violate rights, engage in illegal activities, or involve socially condemned behaviors. As a company, we are confident that, in order to deliver content for our fans to enjoy in the long term, and to create an environment where our affiliated Livers can safely perform their activities with the support of fans and various stakeholders, it is essential for both our Livers and our company to unite and adhere to compliance with the Activity Rules. Violations by Selen Tatsuki of the Activity Rules: Despite our efforts to uphold these rules, Selen Tatsuki has repeatedly violated the Activity Rules since joining NIJISANJI EN in July 2021. Selen Tatsuki's actions in violation of the Activity Rules encompass a wide range of issues, such as non- compliance with rights confirmation and authorization flows, which could potentially lead to infringement of third-party rights, including copyrights. The violations also include unauthorized usage of works and assets belonging to others affiliated with ANYCOLOR, disregarding the intentions of these Parties, as well as lack of communication with creators resulting in delays in Selen Tatsuki's commission payments to creators. Furthermore, there have been ongoing reports about inappropriate behavior by Selen Tatsuki throughout her time as a NIJISANJI EN Liver. We have been addressing these concerns as they arise. As a company, we recognize that these violations of the Activity Rules could damage the trust placed in NIJISANJI EN. We are also aware that such violations jeopardize the ongoing activities of other Livers affiliated with ANYCOLOR. Furthermore, we had consistently issued warnings to Selen Tatsuki each time there was a violation of the Activity Rules. However, she repeatedly disregarded these warnings, often failing to reciprocate communication with her managers. Additionally, Selen Tatsuki has repeatedly posted false or misleading information on social media, insinuating that the violations of the Activity Rules were due to mismanagement by ANYCOLOR. In May 2023, we sent a notice to Selen Tatsuki, stating that any further violation of the Activity Rules or engaging in false or misleading statements that could damage our 5:57 AM Feb 5, 2024 21.2M Views communicated TV Seien Tatsuki unat permission needed to be obtained from televat parties, requesting her to wait before releasing it. Despite this, Selen Tatsuki disregarded the notice and proceeded with the unauthorized posting. Our immediate response was to make the music video private until all authorizations were confirmed from our end. At the same time, the reasoning was clearly explained to Selen Tatsuki. However, Selen Tatsuki took to social media, specifically 'X', making misleading statements that omitted essential context, notably "management has privated the Song." Furthermore, Selen Tatsuki's post includes a statement encouraging third parties to re-upload the music video, which breaches ANYCOLOR'S 'Guidelines for Secondary Creation, (Article 1 Paragraph 2). These actions led to various misunderstandings that damaged the reputation of both ANYCOLOR and NIJISANJI EN. In an effort to calm the situation, we sought to either publicly disclose the reasons for making the music video private or have Selen Tatsuki disclose them herself. While being mindful of Selen Tatsuki's physical and mental health, management did their best to communicate with not only Selen Tatsuki herself, but also her emergency contact. However, despite frequent communication with Selen Tatsuki's emergency contact while remaining considerate of her situation, we were unable to come to an agreement on how to proceed. The decision was made to temporarily remove her access to accounts on various social media platforms and video distribution services under the name 'Selen Tatsuki." ■ Termination of Affiliation Contract: After attempting to address the aforementioned situation and communicating with the Wan Calon Ta Jenni samaal saamamantina Calan Talandi me and the new Since becoming a part of NIJISANJI EN in July 2021, Selen Tatsuki has undeniably played a significant role in the growth of NIJISANJI EN. We fully understand that our decision to terminate the contract will have a significant impact on Selen Tatsuki's fans and supporters of NIJISANJI EN. However, ensuring responsible content creation through adherence to the Activity Rules is fundamental to our mission. It is with deep regret that we must part ways with our affiliated Liver Selen Tatsuki, as we could not reach an agreement on our points of view; however, we would like to ask for the understanding of our fans as to the circumstances that led to this decision. As of today, the 5th of February 2024 JST, Selen Tatsuki's activities will cease. Her YouTube membership will be closed and her social media accounts will be made private. We will also gradually halt the sale of merchandise and voice-related content. Please note that merchandise produced in 2023 featuring Selen Tatsuki or including her in their line-up may be released in the future. Selen Tatsuki's revenue payment for these has either already been completed, or is planned to be settled by the end of February. : The NIJISANJI EN VTuber group OBSYDIA will pursue their activities with Rosemi Lovelock and Petra Gurin. We sincerely thank all the fans who supported Selen Tatsuki and apologize for any inconvenience caused by this announcement. We humbly request your continued support for OBSYDIA and NIJISANJI EN in the future.](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/002/750/924/471.png)

The materials for the music video were shared for the first time with our management on December 24th. Additionally, we expressed to Selen Tatsuki our expectations for future compliance with the Activity Rules from hereon. Despite our efforts, Selen Tatsuki demanded that ANYCOLOR should be held legally responsible. She claimed that she was no longer able to engage in her activities as a Liver due to the decisions made by ANYCOLOR, was being harassed by other affiliated Livers due to mismanagement, etc., while refusing to acknowledge her responsibility for violating the Activity Rules. Moreover, Selen Tatsuki insisted that if the negotiations did not progress, she would proceed to release a statement regarding her claims to the public.](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/002/750/927/7c1.png)

Selen Tatsuki responded to NIJISANI EN's announcement on February 5th, saying that she was hospitalized as a result of "bullying" in December 2023[7] and that she plans to continue streaming as Dokibird.[8] Her posts gathered over 130,000 and 110,000 likes each (seen below).

NIJISANJIs's "Negligible" Statement
VTuber fans noticed that NIJISANJI EN posted a statement to reassure investors a day after Tatsuki's public firing. The statement reportedly acknowledged the firing, and claimed that the event's impact on their finances will be "negligible." X[13] user @Khyomaru posted a copy of the statement on February 6th, 2024, gathering over 15,000 likes in a day (seen below).

However, other fans noted that the company's market value did appear to drop following Tatsuki's firing, as seen in a series of posts by X[14] user @eviltape (seen below).

VTuber and X[15] user @FlipsieVT posted a meme about Anycolor being financially affected by Tatsuki's firing, gathering over 6,000 likes in a day (seen below).

Elira Pendora Livestream and NIJISANJI Statement
On February 12th, 2024, NIJISANJI EN VTubers Elira, Vox and Ike hosted a brief live stream on Elira Pendora's YouTube[16] channel to address their concerns about legal documents sent by Dokibird's lawyers to NIJISANJI EN. The three expressed their belief that Dokibird was in fact fired due to repeated breaches in her contract and that they were concerned about her legal documents posing a doxxing risk toward themselves.
Dokibird responded to the live stream on her X[17] (formerly Twitter) account, saying that the legal documents shared by the lawyer were confidential, and should never have been shared with any Livers (seen below).

NIJISANJI EN issued a statement on their X[18] account as well, saying that only relevant parts of the legal documents were shared with certain Livers, considering that Dokibird and her lawyer have mentioned the possibility that they may be held legally responsible alongside the agency (seen below).

Many VTubers and fans took this development as further proof of NIJISANJI EN's mismanagement, while others took the news as evidence that Livers were involved in the harassment and bullying Dokibird claims to have faced at NIJISANJI.
X[20] user @InfernoOmni questioned the VTuber's motives in being a mouthpiece for their agency, adding, "Why are they even mixed in this?" The post gathered over 9,000 likes in a day (seen below).

X[19] user @SharkStarkVT posted a clip from Elira's live stream alongside a caption that questioned why Millie and Enna's locations would be mentioned in Dokibird's legal documents unless they were involved in bullying her. The post gathered over 5,000 likes in a day (seen below).
Wait a fucking minute but if Elira says in Selen's document are information about "where Millie and Enna lives" then isn't that even more evidence about Millie and Enna being the bullies? Why else would her fucking location be mentioned??? The rrats might have been onto something pic.twitter.com/bl7joUUCHV
