About
Vaush is an American YouTuber and streamer known for his advocacy of leftist ideals, including libertarian market socialism and anarcho-syndicalism. He is known for a series of videos in which he debates conservatives or right-leaning internet personalities, such as Sargon of Akkad, getting his start debating streamer Destiny under the alias IrishLaddie.
History
On July 16th, 2011, Vaush joined YouTube[1] under the name "Irishladdie." Vaush's streaming career began in the mid-2010s, appearing in conversation on Destiny's streaming channels. On June 21st, 2015, Destiny published one of the first videos with Vause (then-known as Irishladdie). "Conversations with Irishladdie." During the stream, the two discuss and debate a number of political and sociological issues, including transgender rights, surgery, social standing and suicide rates. The post received more than 49,000 views in less than six years (shown below).
Over the next few years, Destiny would frequently invite Vaush to debate on the channel. On April 4th, 2017, Destiny published "Talking with my buddy Irish Laddie about the rise of Trump and communism(?)." In the video, they talk about capitalism, communism and President Donald Trump. The post received more than 65,000 views in less than four years (shown below, left).
On January 13th, 2019, Vaush launched his main YouTube channel. "E N L I G H T E N E D C E N T R I S M" sees Vaush describing himself as a leftist and criticizing centrism. The video received more than 102,000 views in less than three years (shown below, right). The following month, Vaush launched his Twitch on February 3rd, 2019. As of March 2021, Vaush has more than 39,000 followers on the platform.[2]
On June 30th, 2020, Vaush published his most popular video to-date. The post "Shane Dawson was SO MUCH WORSE Than I Thought. How do we Stop People Like Him?" received more than 837,000 views in less than one year (shown below).

Sexual Harassment Allegation
In 2017, a person named Poppy, whom Vaush met in the Destiny Discord chat server. Eventually, their friendship ended. However, several months later, Poppy began sharing sexually explicit messages sent to her from Vaush.
On March 27th, 2019, Destiny confronted Vaush with the allegations in a Twitch live stream (shown below, left). Days later, on March 31st, Vaush published the video, "In Regards to Recent Drama (Explanations, Context and Apologies)." The post received me than 82,000 views in less than two years (shown below, right).
Months later, on September 9th, Vaush responded to the allegations on the /r/VaushV subreddit. [3] He said, "I've refrained for the longest time from typing out my retrospective on this drama because it may invite more scrutiny, more out-of-context screenshots to explain away or fit into the timeline, more accusations and such and such. I know for a fact people will interpret this as an effort to smear my detractors, but I don't feel those accusations come from a place of good faith. Whether or not there is backlash to this post, I feel there genuinely is nothing else for me to say on this matter." He also posted about
N-word Controversy
On May 25th, 2020, Twitter user @high_define published a Twitter thread of instances in which Vaush uses the N-word (shown below).

On March 3rd, 2021, Twitter user @garfxist tweeted a video of Vaush using and defending his use of the n-word. They captioned the video, "No words. This man makes me sick." The tweet received more than 4,500 likes and 900 retweets in less than two days (shown below).

The following day, March 4th, Vaush addressed the controversy, stating that in some instances, he still agrees with some of these positions but concedes that he was being "overly edgy" to use the N-word with a soft "A." In other cases, he says that he no longer stands by his former positions. He considers one usage of the word as a "tactical" consideration. He also claims that he began using sorts of language because he was "immersed" in media that use slurs and conversing with people that do, too.
